Gambling Superstions and Beliefs

A lot of time when gambling, we see a lot of people who are always searching for meaningful signs that may assist them in making their bet. Like for instance, a player playing a roulette stands beside a person wearing a red dress, the player would think that placing an outside bet on the the red is lucky. When a player is lucky enough at a blackjack table with a not so very friendly blackjack dealer, that would give him a sign to transfer to another table thinking that his lucky may be affected.

Myths and superstitions have always been a pert of the gambling world. Even to the simplest form of blowing to the dice first before rolling them, up to the most uncommon practice like having a toenail of a horned toad. A lot of gamblers do believe that their games may improve when they follow certain beliefs that are associated in gambling. While a lot of players have already adopted these beliefs and superstitions, there are still some who remains at a common set of belief which many gambler have.

Some of these superstition that are believed to be a sign of good luck includes, carrying rabbit's foot, four leaf clover, your own personal lucky charm, and even a horseshoe. Some would say that wearing a personal luck clothe and being very well dressed can attract a lucky energy. Blowing a breathe of air to that dice before actually rolling them has been a very common practice among gamblers. Some even cross their fingers before making a bet or a move. For poker players, it is said that stacking the chips neatly may be lucky. And of course the most common belief is that the color red is a sign of luck.

While there are some practice that brings good luck, still there are also some practices that brings a bad luck. This includes, breaking a mirror, seeing a black cat that crosses your path, having dogs near a table and the color black.

A lot of us at one pint or another have surrendered and plunged in to these occasional superstitions and beliefs, especially when it comes to the gambling tradition. It really makes a lot of sense to some players than learning and practicing various game strategies. A lot even spends more time practicing those irrational superstitions and belief which is actually not a guarantee that it may work all the time. Sometimes it is just a total waste of time.
